Class Descriptions

Gentle: A slower-paced, mindful class with plenty of modifications and options given to meet you where you are.  The class may incorporate some standing poses but they will be grouped together; there is not much up and down and up again like in the flow-type classes.

Gentle/Level I: A gentle warmup building to a slow flow with standing & strengthening work.

Mixed* Levels: These asana-based classes have a flow format, so we do move between standing and low-to-the-mat poses a fair bit. They are open to any experience level, and I generally tailor the class to whoever comes to a given session as best I can. I provide cueing for a variety of options in many of the poses with the goal of meeting you where you are on a given day.  Classes include pranayama and meditation practice.

Level I/II: Usually a little bit faster paced flow, with options for advanced variations provided.

Level II/III (aka Intermediate): This class is aimed at experienced students and provides more challenging variations and poses.

*I used to call this class “All Levels.” Thanks to some education, I’ve decided that “Mixed Levels” is more accurate. With the movement up from and down to the mat, and the moderate to faster pacing, some individuals might not find the class fully accessible. Please reach out if you’d like resources to learn more, or for more adaptive Yoga than I’m currently able to provide.
